PARTNERSHIPS
Midway is committed to the development and health of our local community. Being family people ourselves, we take a special interest in children’s charities and sporting groups. We have supported Variety The Chidren’s Charity in their annual Variety Bash for the last 12 years, driving across the country to raise awareness and funds for children living with illness.
We also support local sporting clubs from the junior level through to our local professionals the mighty Western Bulldogs.
Midway has been announced as the major sponsor of the Western Bulldogs VFL team for 2022.
Founded in 1877 in Footscray, an inner-western suburb of Melbourne, the club won nine premierships in the Victorian Football Association before gaining entry to the Victorian Football League in 1925. The club has won two VFL/AFL premierships, in 1954 and 2016, and was runner up in 1961. It has also claimed one premiership in the AFL Women's competition, in 2018, having been a foundation member of the league the previous year.
Variety – the Children’s Charity supports kids and families who are facing many challenges through sickness, disadvantage or living with special needs.
Their work allows kids to gain mobility, to get out and about in the community, to communicate, achieve independence and increase their self-esteem.
Essendon Doutta Stars Football Club is a proud community football club serving Essendon, Niddrie and sounding areas. Their successes include 18 A Grade Premierships (1948-49-50-51-53-54-57-59-61-62-63-64-69-72-80-90-91-99), 2 B Grade Premierships (1998-2015) and Senior Women’s Div 1 Premiership (2019).
Newport Football Club (NFC) was established in 2018 and is affiliated with the Western Region Football League (WRFL). In our inaugural season in 2019, NFC fielded a Senior & Reserve team in Division 2 of the WRFL. In 2020, NFC will be fielding a Senior & Reserve as well as an Under 18 boys team.
The Moonee Ponds Bowling Club provides a great family environment is home to around 200 members combined both of social and bowling members.
The Melton Football Netball Club, nicknamed The Bloods, is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the Victorian town of Melton. The football squad currently plays in the Ballarat Football League.
The Fitzroy Stars Football Club is an Australian rules football club located 7 km north east of Melbourne in the suburb of Thornbury. The club is based in the Aboriginal community of Melbourne's inner northern suburbs. They usually play their home games at Victoria Park in Abbotsford, the former home ground of the Collingwood Football Club, but have also played at other venues including the Bill Lawry Oval in 2012.
The Black Dog Institute promotes better mental health through their clinically-endorsed school, workplace and community programs. They are also involved in training the next generation of health care providers through GP, psychologist and psychiatrist programs.
Western United Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club in the A-League, based in the western Melbourne suburbs.
The Sunbury Football Netball Club, nicknamed Lions, is an Australian rules football and netball club based in the Victorian town of Sunbury. The football team currently competes in the Ballarat Football League.
